"New Mexico Adobes"
1920, Etching.
Edition: Not stated. Signed in pencil, Ralph M. Pearson, lower right; also signed, Pearson and dated Oct 1920, in the plate, lower left. Image: 2 x 3 3/8 inches (51 x 85 mm). Sheet: 3 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches (95 x 146 mm). Excellent condition. Good margins. Printed on cream off-white laid paper. An early, signed and dated etching, of adobes at the base of New Mexican hills. In 1920, Pearson was living on a "ranch" near Llano Quemado, New Mexico (south of Taos by a few miles). I would hazard a guess that this image is of that landscape. SOLD |
