"Lone Ranger" circa 1930s, Lithograph. Edition: Not stated, but probably fewer than 100. Signed, Olive Fell, lower right; titled, Lone Ranger, lower left. Image: 7 x 5 1/4 inches (177 x 133 mm). Sheet: 9 5/8 x 7 5/8 inches (244 x 193 mm). Reference: Kovinick and Yoshiki-Kovinick 1998:90. Excellent condition. Good margins. Printed on fine white tissue. Born in remote northern Wyoming, later living in Cody, Olive Fell is truly a daughter of the mountainous West. When she was 20, Fell began taking art classes at the Art Institute of Chicago and at the Art Student's League. Circa 1920, Fell settled on a ranch outside of Cody, Wyoming. Disregarding this remote location, and not allowing it to be an obstacle, Fell pushed forward with her art and led a remarkably flexible and artistically productive life. (For additional information see Kovinick and Yoshiki-Kovinick 1998.) Lone Ranger is a true iconic image of the West. $650.00 |
