Signed and dated in pencil, Ira Moskowitz 1946, lower right (also signed and dated in the block, immediately above); titled, Santo Domingo Corn Dance, lower left. Image: 13 1/2 x 17 3/8 inches (342 x 382 mm). Sheet: 15 1/8 x 20 inches (383 x 507 mm). Reference: Czestochowski 1975:121 #183; Collier and Moskowitz 1949:133; reprinted 1972:cover. Excellent condition. Good margins. Strong impression on cream laid paper. Alternatively titled, Santo Domingo Great Corn Dance. This pueblo image appears on the cover of American Indian Ceremonial Dances (1972) a reprint and slightly altered version of Patterns and Ceremonials of the Indians of the Southwest (1949). A gift inscription from Moskowitz appears in the lower margin, it reads, to Edna and Walker Winslow. Walker Winslow was an interviewer and writer for the New Mexico WPA Federal Writer's Project. $1050.00 |

Signed and dated in pencil, Ira Moskowitz 40, lower right (also signed and dated in the block, immediately above); titled, Zimapan, Mexico, lower left. Image: 10 x 13 3/4 inches (254 x 348 mm). Sheet: 12 x 16 inches (305 x 406 mm). Reference: Czestochowski 1975:119 #91, 40. Excellent condition. Good margins. Fine impression on white wove paper. Very slight toning from previous framing, but does not warrant cleaning. Alternatively titled, Wood Carriers, Zimapan. Printed by George Miller. Czestochowski (1975) felt that only a few proofs of this lithograph were made before the stone was abandoned. $850.00 |
