Edition: 250. Signed in pencil, lower right; title from catalogue raisonne. Image: 13 1/2 x 9 5/8 inches (342 x 244 mm). Sheet: 16 3/4 x 13 1/16 inches (426 x 331 mm). Reference: Morse 1976:79 #512. Excellent condition. Good margins. Two small pieces of matting tape in the upper left and right corners of the sheet, well away from image. Commissioned and distributed by Associated American Artists. Full title in Morse, "Tortilleras with Rolled Petate II." Drawn on the stone by Charlot and printed by Lawrence Barrett in Barrett's, Colorado Springs studio. In Peter Morse's catalogue raisonne on Charlot, Charlot (1971) comments on this print:
We pre-inked the
stone and then scratched in the whites. You
The clean edges referred to by
Charlot are the absolutely straight edges, top and bottom, left and
right, on the print. No ink bleeding out of these "edges." Not an easy
