"Christmas Eve" cut circa 1927-1935, printed circa 1974, Wood Engraving. Edition: Not stated, but probably less than 100. Signed in pencil, Barbara Latham, lower left; signed by the printer, S. Brush, imp. (Sina Brush, impressit), lower right. Image: 5 3/4 x 9 1/8 inches (146 x 231 mm). Sheet: 8 x 11 inches (203 x 279 mm). Excellent condition. Good margins. Pristine condition, has never been either framed or matted, in storage since printed. Printed on cream wove Japan laid paper. The image is of Barbara Latham, her back to the viewer, but her face reflected in the mirror. To her right is husband Howard Cook playing a small accordion. This print is occasionally titled, A Cook Christmas Card (although it never was a card), or Evening. SOLD |
