Artist: Arthur C. Begay (1931-2010)

It is sad to announce that Arthur Begay passed away on September 17, 2010. Begay, born December 10, 1931, was last known living near Newcomb, New Mexico. His paintings carried on a tradition of painting that seems to be fast disappearing. Depicting memories of past Navajo life styles and places that can now be accessed by pave roads, Begay gave us a picture of a time when things where slower and perhaps a little quieter. We appreciate his art and the man that made it. Hágoónee' and thank you Arthur.
